What Are QI Skills?

QI (pronounced ‘key’) Skills are a newly defined set of “soft” non-cognitive, social emotional life (SEL) and other skills that people need to succeed in a 21st century society. The moniker QI Skills was conceived by noted Pediatrician and public personality and speaker Dr. Laura Jana. In applying her more than two decades of experience in early childhood education and development, pediatrics, and parenting, Dr. Jana – first introduced the foundationally important QI Skills needed to succeed in today’s world in her book ‘The Toddler Brain: Nurture the skills today that will shape your children’s tomorrow’.

As a practical matter, many of these critically important life skills needed for success are poorly recognized by and/or absent in many adults from parents to teachers and those in the business world. iGenCo and Dr. Jana are developing a compelling curriculum that will awaken adults to the importance of these skills for success, help them better understand where they may have gaps in these important areas, and offer practical evidence-informed strategies for developing and strengthening the skills needed to be a better co-worker, manager, teacher and self.

QI Skills curriculum will be available as workforce development curriculum September 1, 2019.

Dr. Jana is available currently to speak about QI skills for children and/or adults and has made over 70 such presentations in 2018.
